Call 2026

Submissions for the 5th edition of the HaHaArt Film Festival will be open until July 12, 2026.

In the competition, only short comedy films are accepted, with up to 40 minutes and a year of production between 2024 and 2026. The films in the competition are considered for the following award categories:

Best Feature Film (750,00€ award)

Best  Short Film (500,00€ award)

Best National Short Film (300,00€ award)

Prize of Artistic Merit: (300,00€ award)

Audience Award (300€ award)

The Best National Short Film and Best National Director categories are dependent on the number of Portuguese films in the selection, requiring a minimum of five films for the categories to be considered.

The official selection will be composed of 30 short films and 5 feature films. The number of this selection can vary according to the quantity and quality of the submitted films.

Applicants may submit a maximum of 3 films per director/production team.

Films in all languages are accepted, as long as they are sent with either Portuguese or English subtitles.

The submitted films must be in digital format, with the purpose of being shown on the big screen.
