Close-Up
With each edition, Close-Up invites the audience to explore a particular expression of comedy cinema in a section dedicated to highlighting directors, movements, subgenres, and other relevant aspects of comedy cinema that deserve closer examination. Through a selection of films and the presence of the directors or other guests, this section seeks to contextualize and explore different ways of thinking about and creating comedy, while promoting dialogue with the audience.
2025 | Azoresploitation
Inspired by the traditions of exploitation cinema, Azoresploitation was the term chosen to describe films that explore, with humor and irreverence, the Azorean imagination and identity. The films screened brought together a variety of approaches, offering a unique perspective on insular cinema. The session featured the presence of director Francisco Lacerda.
